Open Source Fundraising Campaigns: The GNOME Ruler
GNOME is raising funds for a system administrator, and just yesterday a ruler has been added to the top of various GNOME websites to show people progress. Stormy Peters reported that on the first day almost $1,000 in donations came from individual donors, and $5,000 from a company.
The goal tracking ruler added by Lucas Rocha and others is a nice and effective tool. Kudos to the GNOME Marketing team.
Maybe others like the Eclipse foundation will follow the GNOME example, hope at PLIO will consider that at some point.
