The third Open World Forum will be held in Paris, France, on 30 September and 1 October 2010.
Proposals for talks and associated events should be made directly to the Program Committee (of which I am pleased to be part) through the OWF Program Committee wiki. The deadline for submissions is 30 March 2010.

Wubi is the easiest tool to step into the Linux world, allowing Windows users to install Ubuntu with a single click. Oddly yesterday an installation failed with the following message:
OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: u’C:\\ubuntu\\install\\ubuntu-9.10-desktop-amd64.iso
To fix the error you just need to directly download the Ubuntu iso and put the file in the directory where your Wubi is located. Now relaunch Wubi and everything will work fine.
Last week Packt has announced that Drupal has won both the best open source PHP CMS Category and the Hall of Fame new category. Having been one of the judges for the first category, I wish to share some thoughts about my number 1, 2 and 3.

My Acer Aspire One - powered by a commercial Linux distro called Linpus - after entering sleep mode couldn’t connect to the wireless network anymore. The wireless connection logo vanished, turning the wifi switch on/off didn’t work either, as was useless try to launch the Network Center. If you got a similar problem, read below.

Packt announced the launch of the fourth open source CMS award, an award organized by the publish company since 2006 in order to encourage, support, recognize, and reward open source Content Management Systems.
Nominations are open until the 11th of September, to submit a nomination have a look at the 5 different categories and if you are looking for inspiration visit open source directories like opensourceCMS or CMSMatrix.
