Centurian on the goI do travel a lot, either for business and pleasure, and occasionally friends and acquaintances ask where they should go to have great time and good food.

This page is dedicated to them, comments and feedback as usual are welcome.

In order to make easy for you to check out specific geographies I will create sub-pages, and I will keep this entry point page updated!

Please enjoy my first entry about a Sardinian hotel.

Valle dell’Erica Resort

resort-valle-dell-erica_slider_piscina-1How did I find it

Looking for a luxury hotel in Sardinia you’ll get to Charming Sardinia website, a on line specialist for hotels in Sardinia. After having reviewed in depth all top ten results, I got back to Charming  Sardinia because it provides a great selection of fine hotels and if you book through them you’ll get also a special discount (something Booking.com and the usual suspects are not able to pair).

The location and how to get there

Valle dell’Erica Resort and Licciola are located close to Santa Teresa di Gallura in the Northern part of Sardinia island. Best way to get there is either by plane or ferry to Olbia, then by car (1 hour). For the transfer from the airport I’ve used Charming Sardinia transfer services that are very professional and not over-priced. Another interesting option, especially if you want to travel around, is to rent a car. Prices are not too friendly, make sure to use some car hire comparison site.

About the resort

The resort was built back in 1958, and actually it was the first tourist village in Sardinia. More recently the village was completely refurbished by Delphina, with a special attention to details and respect of nature. 1400 mt of private coasts, with few small bays, 3 beatiful sea-water swimming pools and a gorgeous Thalasso Spa.

The exclusive Hotel Licciola, completed in 2013, is a jewel within a jewel, and it is definitely my favorite place. It counts 116 rooms, and my favorite are the ones in front of the swimming pool with the swimming bar.

Meals

Food is delicious, no matter if you prefer the restaurants offering a great self-service selection or if you prefer à la carte. For kids I recommend the first option, but I always took the chance to ask for baby-sitting service for having a dinner with my spouse.

Kids

A fantastic day-care service is included, and my baby girl loved that.
