Italian free software association asks again Italian candidates for Municipal and Regional elections to sign a pact where they agree to promote the use of free software.
The past campaigns hired first 101 candidates, and then 232 for the last elections.
Better Software 2010, the only Italian IT conference on software development for IT managers and entrepreneurs, will be held in Florence on the 5-6 of May 2010.
The conference will bring together experts in the fields of agile project management, open source, web2.0, and all the elements which contribute to the production of a stable and marketable product.

Packt – the UK publishing company specialized in books on software running yearly the open source CMS award – published “Funambol Mobile Open Source“, the first ever book on Funambol server.
Stefano Fornari, CTO and co-founder of Funambol, wrote a book explaining step-by-step how to install and get started with Funambol (have a look at the Funambol mail sample chapter to get an idea). Either if you are a geek or simply interested in mobile technology, this book provides you with all necessary information about Funambol architecture, how to provide push e-mail and synchronization services or even how to develop extensions on your own.
Despite both the author and the reviewer, Alberto Falossi, are Italians, the book is written in English.
Funambol has just launched the latest edition of its Code Sniper program - a program meant to encourage development by the community of new components – now also  for the open source mobile cloud.
Differently from the Phone Sniper program, aimed at getting micro-contributions, Code Sniper rewards more complex contributions. Stefano Maffulli, Funambol Community Manager, told me more about the “Funambol way“, maybe other vendors leading open source projects could find it inspirational.
