Better Software 2011, the Italian IT conference on software development for IT managers and entrepreneurs now at its third edition, will be held in Florence on the 27-28 of June 2011.

Few days after my blog post about OSI’s possible future,  OSI wrote a second statement on the CPTN transaction, somehow reaffirming my concerns about a maybe too narrowed view on software patents. Now that even Groaklaw gave up with software patents  - rightly in my opinion – leaving it to IT giants and patent-trolls, will OSI fight software patents as a whole?
While waiting to understand how OSI will behave in this respect, we might move on other topics, like how OSI could fulfill its mission.

First time I’ve seen this. How is it compared to mysql-proxy ?
Tungsten Replicator is a full replacement for MySQL replication, while MySQL Proxy is only a man-in-between that can filter operations between a client and a server.
Tungsten Replicator can do more than simple replication. It allows multiple masters, replication from many masters to the same slave (a.k.a. multi source or fan-in), seamless failover, and parallel replication. More info in the webinar.
