Upcoming Italian Open Source Conference: “Open Source Governance” by Inforav

INFORAV, the Italian Institute for advanced information technology, is organizing in collaboration with IPSEMA, the insurance institute for the maritime sector, and CDTI, the Association of IT Professionals based in Rome, a study meeting on Open Source Governance on the 28th of October.

The meeting is aimed at debating how open source may be procured, used and managed in a sustainable way, keeping in mind technical, organizational and legal implications. The importance of the open source software governance, will be covered from many different perspectives by Floretta Rolleri, member of board of directors at the National Centre for ICT in the Public Administrations (CNIPA), Roberto Di Cosmo, professor at the university of Paris-Diderot and president of the System@tic Logiciel Libre working group and Carlo Piana, Lawyer and Free Software licensing expert.

Maurizio Bufalini, Inforav’s president, kindly asked me to moderate the panel. Right after the panel Accenture and Microsoft will shortly present their experiences.
