ForumPA, the greatest Italian event of and about Public Administration taking place in Rome from the 11th to the 14th of May 2009, will host a round-table to talk about “strategies to increase the use of open source for public administrations“.
I am honored to have been asked again by Gianni Dominici,Vice General Director of ForumPA, to chair the session. I helped organizers to invited speakers from Italian and international public administrations to share their real experiences and best practices.
No talk, just open source action!
Trying to organize my blog information in a clearer way, over the next two weeks I will make some cosmetics changes to commercial open source blog. Yesterday I started by updating WordPress to the latest version available, and adding a plug-in to keep my readers up to date about my events (Event Calendar by Alex Tingle).
The WordPress publish platform is getting more and more flexible everyday, its plugin architecture helps developers to release a great number of add-ons, making WordPress a viable option for many purposes, from a stock icons e-commerce store to an apartment booking website.

Commercial open source, as James states, exists just to deliver software as whole product: an out-of-the-box, easy-to-consume, packaged-and-delivered, risk-free solution.
