ODF Plugfest, the Final Agenda is on line!

The ODF Plugfest final agenda is on line, and few Italian speakers will talk on the first day, Monday 2nd of November.

Fabio Pistella - President of the Italian National Center for ICT in Public Administrations (CNIPA) - will welcome attendees. Later I will give my opening talk on “open standards and interoperability”, and at 11 am Stefano Paggetti - Director of Umbria’s consortium for IT in local public administrations (SIR) - will talk about the regional law that favors adherence to open standards and how local public administrations look at interoperability issues.

The Free Culture Forum is an event dedicated to free culture and free knowledge, bringing together stakeholders from all over the world for three days in Barcelona (Spain) from 29th of October until 1st November.

OpenOffice.org Video Guides: PinGuide

Christian Biasco, author of π-Videoblog - a video series dedicated to intellectual property and intellectual freedom - has just released the video guide dedicated to OpenOffice.org. The OpenOffice.org video is the third of the PinGuide series, and it has been sponsored by two Italian LUG (LinuxTrent and FoLug).

PinGuide is a collaborative project, volunteers willing to translate videoguides are welcome, if interested contact directly Christian.

Mind the Bridge Gymnasium - the initiative started by Italians living in Silicon Valley to help Italian entrepreneurs to go to Silicon Valley, raise capital and bring it home - invites you to the “Presentations Skills Workshop“. The workshop will be held in Milan on the 20-21 of October by Elisabetta Ghisini and will teach the audience on how to deliver business presentations.

This event is for payment and  it costs 500 euros.

Open Source Webinar: GPL3 Top Issues, by BlackDuck

Tomorrow at 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM EDT will take place the “Unraveling the Complexities of the GPL” Webinar. Mark Radcliffe (DLA Piper) and Karen Copenhaver (Choate, Hall and Stewart) will cover the three main issues regarding GPL license use and obligations:

- What constitutes a derivative work?

- What constitutes a separate and independent work?

- What constitutes distribution?

The webinar won’t cover the basics of GPL.
