European Summit on Interoperability in the iGovernment 2008: Award results

The organiser of the ESIIG 2 Summit, the Lazio region, launched the second edition of the iG Award (iG 2.0) initiative in collaboration with ePractice.eu. The competition was open to a wide spectrum of participants, from public authorities at local, regional, national and European levels to stakeholders of the private sector experts in the ICT field and in the Knowledge and Information Society.

EUCARIS (the European car and driving licence information system) won the overall ‘iG 2.0 Award’ for the most outstanding initiative in the field of interoperability. The prize was awarded by Mario Michelangeli, Regional Minister for Consumer Protection and Administrative Simplification of the Lazio Region, during a dedicated session of the ESIIG 2 Summit.

It is to be noted that the iG 2.0 Award winner EUCARIS established an important cooperation with transferability best case SEMIC.EU, thus becoming its official project partner.
